COLLAGE

This piece depicts a riksja taxi in the streets of Manila, The Philippines. Using a lot of color and extreme clashing colors, this piece is most remarkable. The finished piece was oxidized using a special procedure that deteriorates the wool and keeps the silk untouched, apart from a slight decoloration. This procedure was performed at the end of its production. The result is a unique masterpiece with stunning, bright, lively colors and a unique 3D look. The touch is rather rough and worn out, adding to the drama of the whole design in this piece.

PHOTOSPLASH

This piece depicts a riksja in the streets of Manila. The idea was to work in very light, tone-on-tone colors, allowing the classic rug pattern to dissolve into the background. The piece is square. The only element that truly advances is the yellow strip along the edge of the pavement. The result is a unique piece with muted, refined colors and a 3D effect visible only in ample light, as the silk is silver and the wool runs through several greys.

RAINFALL

RAINFALL

This piece depicts schoolchildren walking home from school in what appears to be a rain of oriental rug pattern, as if the motif is falling from the sky while the children shelter under umbrellas. The finished piece carries an additional 3D effect achieved through hand carving at the end of production. The result is a unique work with vivid, lively colors and a singular depth.
