COLLAGE
This piece is produced once, one of three works of art in a quality only Thibault Van Renne can achieve.
Creative director Thibault Van Renne was approached by Anneke Coppens, a photographer from Sint-Martens-Latem who travels the world shooting street photography.
Anneke wanted her photographic work from Manila, The Philippines, translated into one-of-a-kind designer rugs. She was explicit: not exact copies, but a new creation using the photographs as a starting point, pieces conceived as pure art for wall display.
Thibault Van Renne is known for pushing the limits of handmade-rug production. "Exploring the endless possibilities of an empty canvas." After ten days he arrived at three unique artworks. They mark the convergence of digital photography and oriental rug design, a collision of modern and classic that has always fascinated him.
