Woman, Life, Freedom
In a world where young women and men courageously fight for freedom and dignity, Thibault Van Dieren's project "Not Even Afraid" stands as a tribute to the resilience of youth in the face of adversity and injustice, and to their commitment to values that transcend borders and cultures.
At the heart of this exhibition is a unique handmade carpet titled "Woman Life Freedom," designed by Thibault Van Renne: a visual composition of symbolism and emotion. The intricate design, developed over weeks, captures the essence of the Iranian protest movement.
The slogan "woman, life, freedom" runs through the carpet, carrying the core message of the movement. The depiction of blood marks the price paid by those who protested and the force of the government's response, a stark record of the sacrifices made in pursuit of justice and freedom.
With a pile relief difference of 2 and 4 mm, every detail is rendered with precision. A total of 2,609,584 knots went into its creation.
In the words of Albert Einstein: "The world will not be destroyed by those who do evil, but by those who watch it and do nothing."
