This piece is one of three in the series. Each carries 16 colors and over 190,000 knots per m², reaching 1.4 million knots in the whole piece. To honor Chinese culture and folklore, the palette of each piece reflects values central to Chinese tradition and to the Van Renne design language.
1st piece in beige, white, blue and silver: relaxation, exploration, trust, immortality.
2nd piece in red and gold:
red: good luck, celebration, happiness, joy, vitality, long life
gold: warmth, clarity, royalty
3rd piece in black and white: the yin and yang of Taoism, held in dynamic equilibrium.
Chinese dragons 小龍 are legendary creatures in Chinese mythology. The dragon represents power, strength, and good fortune for those who are worthy of it. Chinese emperors adopted the dragon as a symbol of imperial authority. In everyday Chinese expression, exceptional people are likened to the dragon.
